Designing a sustainable future
"Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. "*
Sustainability is our responsibility, which is why Therme Euskirchen is committed to these four core elements of the 'Thermengruppe Josef Wund':
conscious handling of resources
The Therme Euskirchen has focused on sustainable resource management from the very beginning. Efficient use of water, cleaning agents, and disinfectants, a sophisticated system for heat recovery, water-saving showerheads and faucets, digital and water-efficient irrigation for our more than 500 palm trees, as well as an innovative retractable roof that enables natural cooling, are just some key components of our holistic sustainability concept. Up to 65% of the service water is recycled and returned to the natural cycle. The building features efficient drainage systems that collect rainwater in a 6,500 m² lake, which captures heavy rainfall and serves as a water reservoir for irrigation. Chlorine for the pools is produced on-site to reduce hazardous material transport. Our technical team ensures smooth daily operations.
As part of the Thermengruppe Josef Wund, the Therme Euskirchen is a forward-looking company committed to a sustainable future. Investments in energy efficiency have already significantly reduced energy consumption. Every day, our team of experts works to further advance this progress and achieve climate neutrality.
together for the future
Wund Holding is a signatory to the UN Global Compact. As a subsidiary of Wund Holding GmbH, which is included in the annual Communication on Progress (CoP) to the UN Global Compact, Therme Euskirchen also adheres to the principles of the UN Global Compact.
Regional cooperation is particularly important to Therme Euskirchen:
Employees of Therme Euskirchen actively support the volunteer fire department of the town of Euskirchen during their working hours. This means that employees are released from work at any time for emergencies. In addition, the fire department and police can use the Therme Euskirchen sports pool for training purposes at any time. Therme Euskirchen is also a founding member of the corporate climate protection network.
